Act One: Chef Meets Architect

Deborah Bio

Deborah launched her professional culinary career working with Dan Barber of Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Embracing the "farm to fork" food culture came naturally to her and soon she was an exclusive private chef, spending her summers cooking exquisite multi-course dinner parties for clients in East Hampton and NYC.

After moving to Los Angeles, Deborah and her husband Andrei Pogany of Pogany Architecture started Food + Shelter in Highland Park, an event space/ culinary and design pop up destination.

In addition to being a private chef, Deborah is co-founder of Sorbabes, a gourmet sorbet company and is also the founder of the golden skillet a video blog documenting culinary family histories and recipes.

Andrei Bio

Andrei Pogany launched his firm, Pogany Architecture, with the goal of bringing a personal level of custom design to every project.  Andrei is passionate about sophisticated design, and is focused on finding the opportunities in every single project, rather than just finding solutions for problems. Andrei founded Pogany Architecture in 2013, after spending a decade working at larger firms in New York City.  The new Los Angeles-based firm, with Andrei as principal, specializes in residential new construction and renovations, primarily in Southern California.

Andrei is excited to be working in the Los Angeles area and believes that the most creative and innovative work is possible here because of traditions of modernism, the varied climate and clients who are interested incorporating diverse design elements and traditions into their structures.
